Achille Castiglioni was born in Milan in 1928.
After graduating in architecture in 1944, he began working on the search for forms, techniques and new materials, dedicating himself fully to the integral design.
In 1956 ADI was created and he was one of the founders. He was professor "Artistic Design for the Industry" in the Faculty of Architecture of Turin and later "Industrial Design" in Milan.
He is recognized internationally for its designs and its true works of art in the world of industrial design. He has been awarded 9 times with the Compasso d'Oro, the most important prize of Italian design in Italy.
He is one of the great Italian designers who has left great designs and luminarias in his long experience.
The collection Fucsia of Flos of suspension lamps, was created in 1996.
