The collaboration between Foscarini and Marc Sadler begins with Mite, a floor lamp so innovative that won the 2001 Compasso d'Oro.

For Mite, the company and designer have developed a special patent: a mixture of glass fiber and carbon or Kevlar®, which at the same time acts as decoration and bearing structure.

A technology already used for the production of fishing rods, oars and golf clubs, it is used for the first time in the world of lighting.

About Mite of Foscarini

Its circular plant shape is drawn enlarging upwards, where the light source is located.

Thanks to a set of internal parabolas, Mite guarantees optimum illumination, projecting an intense and warm light beam towards the ceiling.

The internal lighting enhances the decoration and its slender shape. Mite furnish any environment with a presence that does not disturb and with its elegant personality.

Features Mite

Diffuse and indirect light foot lamp. Diffuser obtained with an artisan process in which the application of a cable in Kevlar® for the yellow and carbon version is foreseen for the black version on glass fabric.

Internal stem in metal; The upper parabola in brushed steel acts as both the diffuser locking on the stem and the light reflector inside the diffuser.

Base in nickel-plated steel, the transparent cable has a dimmer that acts both as a dimmer and on / off switch.
