Odile Decq created his own office just after graduating from La Villette in 1978 while studying political science in Paris where he completed a postgraduate diploma in Urban Planning in 1979.
The international fame came quickly; and in 1990 he won his first major commission: Banco Popular de l'Ouest in Rennes. The numerous awards and publications that distinguished the building underlined the emergence of a new hope directly born of punk rebellion which turned old conventions upside down.
By questioning the commission, use, matter, body, technique and taste of architecture Odile Decq it offers a paradoxical aspect to tender and severe time in the world today. She was awarded the Golden Lion at Venice in 1996. Since then, Odile Decq has been faithful to his attitude during combat, while diversification and radicalization of their research.
