Odile Decq created her own office right after graduating from La Villette in 1978 while studying Political Science in Paris where she completed a postgraduate diploma in Urban Planning in 1979.
International fame came quickly; Already in 1990 gained its first important commission: the Popular Bank of l'Ouest in Rennes. The numerous awards and publications that distinguished the building underscored the emergence of a new hope directly born of the punk rebellion that turned out old conventions upside down.
By questioning the commission, the use, matter, body, technique and taste of the Odile Decq architecture offers a paradoxical, yet tender and severe aspect in today's world. She was awarded the Golden Lion in Venice in 1996. Since then, Odile Decq has been faithful to her attitude during combat while diversifying and radicalizing her research.
